“Taiz Health” Records 3,259 Cases of Dengue and Other Fevers Since the Start of the Year

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Media Officer of the Public Health and Population Office in Taiz Governorate, Taysir Al-Samaei, revealed that 3,259 cases of dengue fever and other fevers have been recorded in the governorate since the beginning of the year until today.

Al-Samaei explained in a press statement that statistics indicate a significant decrease in the number of infections compared to previous years, with the decline rate reaching 80%, considering this indicator a “positive result.”

The health official attributed this notable decline to “the significant efforts made by the Public Health and Population Office in the governorate, with the support of the local authority leadership, and in cooperation with health development partners and civil society organizations” in the field of vector control.

Al-Samaei called on “all citizens in the city’s districts” to cooperate with the field teams of the Health Office and facilitate their work during the implementation of the fogging campaign to combat mosquitoes that transmit febrile diseases, emphasizing the importance of this cooperation in sustaining the decline of the disease and maintaining public health.
