Source: Former Houthi Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Departs Aden Airport After Days in Detention

Yemen Monitor – Aden:

A reliable source has confirmed that Hisham Sharaf, the former Foreign Minister for the Houthi-led authorities in Sana’a, departed Aden International Airport on Wednesday, following several days of detention by security authorities.

The source, who requested anonymity, stated that Sharaf was released and allowed to leave the country after undergoing interrogation and security procedures, without providing further details about his destination or the exact circumstances of his detention.

Sharaf’s presence in Aden, a city controlled by the internationally recognized government and Southern Transitional Council forces, raised widespread questions and speculation in political and media circles. Neither the Yemeni government nor the Houthi group has issued an official statement on the matter.

Hisham Sharaf previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the unrecognized Houthi administration based in Sana’a and was considered one of the group’s most prominent diplomatic figures. His recent movements and apparent release come amid a backdrop of increasing tension and diplomatic maneuvering in the Yemeni conflict.
