On Saturday, the first plane carrying Yemeni pilgrims departed from Sana’a International Airport en route to the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage season.

Khaled Al-Shaif, Director of Sana’a International Airport (appointed by the Houthis), stated in a press release that approximately 2,000 pilgrims will be transported directly from the airport to the holy sites, noting that the transportation is limited to a single aircraft.

Al-Shaif added that a flight schedule has been organized, featuring two flights per day.

This marks the first flight under Yemenia Airways’ program to transport nearly 2,000 pilgrims from Sana’a International Airport to the holy lands.

This step follows the completion of official approvals from the relevant Saudi authorities, facilitating the transportation of Yemeni pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
